About the role
Role: Capacity Engineer
Location: 100% remote Role Type: Contract 12+ months
Description:
The Performance Capacity Planning team analyzes and optimizes application and infrastructure systems to optimize responsive scalable reliable resilient and cost-effective environments. The teamplays an important role in defining a capacity planning strategy measuring the digital user experience and enhancing technology trends. You will partner with various stakeholders and management to advocate implement automate analyze and monitor systems and services.
Job Responsibilities:
- Extract data using Capacity Planning's tool BMC Helix Continuous Optimization
- Work with the IT customer to identify patterns of business activity to understand the levels of demand that will be placed on an application service.
- Perform Capacity forecasting.
- Recommend optimizations that will favorably impact both capacity and performance.
- Evaluate current and forecasted trends with consideration of historical growth and initiatives known to impact workloads on the infrastructure.
- Build automation capabilities in Capacity Performance analytics Capacity as a Service framework data collections and reporting.
- Prepare and maintain capacity forecasting evaluate and optimize project requests.
- Proactively engage in site-wide application performance analysis to identify potential performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Work with application teams to optimize application performance and scalability to improve efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in IT Engineering Computer Science Telecommunications Engineering Electronic Engineering Math Physics
- Foundation of software engineering
- Foundation of IT architecture
- Strong analytical strategic problem solving organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Solid knowledge of capacity management software -BMC Helix Continuous Optimization
- Solid knowledge of at least one programming language Python and Java are preferred
- Eagerness to extend knowledge of IT performance management best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Passion to learn new technologies and to apply these concepts to business needs.
- Good attitude and motivation to put new ideas into practice.
