About the role
Role- Cassandra Developer Duration- 6 Months Location- Remote Overview: Cassandra on-prem right now, 15 prod servers running right now. Have additional requests for applications to be moved over from Mainframe to Cassandra back-end and need to migrate to the cloud for scalability without tapping out the existing system. Project in early phases, just started POC and set up testing environment. Need hands-on Cassandra Database Engineers with leanings toward scalability and security--how do we safely migrate to the cloud without compromising data exposure and handle additional application workloads and leverage full Azure capabilities? Will be supporting the migrations from Mainframe to Cassandra Web and mobile applications, Cassandra will need to scale to entire digital traffic of 40+ domain applications Using Elasticsearch/Opensearch engine, nice to have experience in distributed analytics Responsible for distributed system deployments--automation and CI/CD DevOps nice to have, but secondary to core database. Current automation strategy is Ansible with Airflow, but will be one automation that can be repeatable on the cloud. CI/CD will use Jenkins Cloud experience is important--Azure strongly preferred but AWS/GCP okay Will be adding resources to an existing team: 13 person team managing Cassandra, 24/7 shop on rotation basis Must Haves: Cassandra database engineering background Cloud (Azure preferred) Understanding of database security and scalability on the cloud Nice to Have: DevOps and CI/CD Elasticsearch Automation (deployments) Mainframe On-prem-->cloud NoSQL migration experience -- ---- Thanks & Regards, Tejash - Technical Recruiter Thought wave Software and Solutions 314 N.
