Role: Cobol/Mainframe Consultant

Duration: 10+ month contract Location: Fully remote Visa: Must work on w2 Rate: $50/hr on w2

Job Title: Programmer/Analyst Senior - ATM and Debit Card Management Applications

Summary: Provide support for a large-scale ATM and Debit Card conversion. Extensive experience with Mainframe COBOL-based Debit/ATM Card Management and/or Transaction Processing software. Deliver development and support assignments on time and within budget. Work closely with customers, programmers and team members to understand business requirements that drive analysis, design and mapping of quality technical solutions ensuring a successful conversion. Involved in the full conversion life cycle and responsible for some or all of the following: coding, designing, testing, converting and in any other manner supporting the complex conversion of the card management and transaction authorization/processing applications.

General duties and responsibilities: o Contributes to and/or establishes effort estimates and delivery schedules for a major cad conversion. o Verifies completeness and accuracy of specifications for projects (e.g., application features/functionality, report changes, control file changes, file fixes). o Determines programming requirements for major projects (e.g., conversions, product updates,). o Develops requirements for system enhancements. o Conducts research and documents findings and recommendations through analytical problem solving. o Provides client support, training, testing and vendor relations. o Develops program logic for new applications, analyzes and modifies logic in existing applications o Codes, tests, debugs, documents, implements and maintains software applications o Maintains, tests and integrates application components o Develops technical designs that will meet system objectives and minimize impact on operations. o Codes programs that interface with multiple online and batch applications. o Advises client personnel on software conversion and installation activities. o Prepares user, operations, and system documentation. o Provides application development and production support, utilizes diagnostic tools o Responsible for software installation and maintenance. o Analyzes requirements, and translates business requirements into solution designs o Writes technical specifications and produces project deliverables o Suggests technical alternatives and recommends improvements to processes and systems o Conducts planning, analysis and forecasting activities for assignments o Provides leadership and/or guidance to other technical professionals o Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related discipline is required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required/Desired knowledge, skills and attributes: o Proficiency with ATM and Debit Card Management Applications and Processing o Proficiency with ATM and Debit Card Transaction Authorization Applications and Processing • 4+ years Proficiency with FIS MA Application (Desired, not required) • 2+ years Proficiency with the CV Card Transaction Processing Application(Desired, not required) o Proficiency with COBOL, CICS, EasyTrieve, Endevor o Working knowledge of JCL and ISPF o Knowledge of other FIS Core applications and Service Delivery (Desired, not required) o Driven to provide exceptional client support and satisfaction; o Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences at all management levels; o Possesses relevant technical and industry knowledge and expertise; o Proficiency with problem-solving, team dynamics, and time management; o Proactively seeks information and shares ideas o Ability to establish and manage to delivery dates for all assignments o Ability to coordinate and manage multiple concurrent assignments o Experience with waterfall and agile project management practices

Senior technical role. Develops large and highly complex solutions that require analysis and research. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or technical leader/consultant. Works on complex tasks, projects and issues that involve a high degree of risk, and impact business unit performance. Contributes expertise and experience on one or more areas of specialty. Works without supervision on highly complex projects.
