About the role
Role: Cognos Lead
Locations : Charlotte, NC OR Jersey City, NJ Duration : 12+ month contract
Must‑Have's: IBM Cognos Analytics Version 12 – needs to be version 12 Experience with Containers as this environment is being containerized Linux environment experience (cannot have solely Windows) Senior-level (need to have been a Senior or Lead) Ability to interface effectively with senior-level management
Nice-to-Have: Remedy Jira ServiceNow Project Management Oracle SQL Network Infrastructure Experience with IBM business tools
Job Description: IBM business intelligence tool; manage the platform end to end, moving to containerization, hybrid onsite, and on‑call. Day‑to‑day: on‑call support, platform management, weekend work as needed, manage risk, vulnerabilities, metrics, Jira, integrate team requirements, troubleshoot, continuous monitoring, lead upgrades and version upgrades. This role is responsible for designing go-live strategy, capacity planning, performance monitoring, diagnosing complex issues, performing complex upgrades, and carrying out deployments. As IBM Cognos Analytics subject matter expert, you will advise/educate internal stakeholders about Cognos, Architecture blueprints and best practices. Analyzing usage patterns and anticipate workload to plan capacity. EX: Service ID or work with the Oracle team on patching. The environment is going to be containerized and has already moved to version 12; this is a lead position.
