Title : Data Base architect Location: Columbia, MD – remote during covid Duration: 6 month temp to hire Main Skills Needed: · SQL Server 2017 – earlier or later versions are fine but 2017 is preferred · Data Warehousing Design and Implementation · Strong ETL Skills · SSIS, SSRS, SSAS Database Architect Job Description: The Database Architect will be responsible for evaluating the current data structure, and architecture for the Long Term Services & Supports (LTSS) system, provide Technical Director a strategy for a to-be data landscape in compliance with database architecture standards and best practices, and will assist BI Lead to implement LTSS state of art BI and report solution implementation. On a regular basis the Database Architect will provide guidance to fellow team members on capturing and fine-tuning low performing areas of existing databases. Report solution implementations include generating datawarehouse design and structuring a high performing ETL process with little to no user-end experience interruptions. Role and Responsibilities: Determines database structural requirements by analyzing client operations, applications, and programming; reviewing client objectives; evaluating current systems; Develops database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, back-up, and recovery specifications. Provide archiving structure and strategies on an as-needed basis. Collaborate with analysts, developers and architects to capture meaningful data definitions, build data models, and document results throughout the project life cycles Responsible for existing database architecture and future database implementations Responsible for target data design including the OLTP design and OLAP design, source to target mappings, data migration, and metadata modeling Functions as a liaison with clients and operations. Analyzes clients' existing systems and business models Understands software development lifecycle Translates client requirements into highly specified project briefs Identifies options for potential solutions and assesses them for both technical and business suitability Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. 8-10 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience. 5+ years' hands-on technical experience as Database Architect. Experience constructing complex ETL processes from scratch. Strong experience with ETL tools such as SSIS. Datawarehouse design, implementation, and life cycle maintenance. Strong SQL Server skills with versions including SQL Server 2017+ Strong Conceptual, Logical and Physical data modeling skills Strong Rational, Dimensional and Object modeling experience and skills Strong SQL and Data Analysis skills. Strong Metadata management. Strong understanding of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes and complexities. Strong experience with multiple database formats (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Strong understanding of database security principles Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (process, methodologies and best practices) with a strong analytical/technical background within a multi-tier system. Experience in Healthcare industry business practices and data. Strong customer and business focus with presentation skills.
