Role: Data Engineer

Client: Capital One Contract duration – long term, likely to go up to 2 years Location – can sit in Richmond VA, Plano TX, or DC.

W2 Only. During its REMOTE

They NEED to have Spark, Scala, AWS, SQL, and Big Data experience.

Project Details:

• This team does a lot of work around many different types of data from various sources so they are looking for a data eng w/ exp in big data to help on data engineering • Exp in big data w/ Hadoop & Spark is critical more so than cloud exp • They work with various different DBs so strong SQL & Python exp will be required

Candidate Profile:

• Mid-level data eng • 3+ yrs exp in an ent env • 5+ yrs exp overall • Pref financial ind exp • Strong coding background with Spark AND Scala • Exp working w/ big data

Daily Responsibilities:

• Write scripts to pull & merge data • Work w/ data models • Write queries & stored procedures • Work w/ Spark and Scala

Required Skills: • Spark and Scala are a MUST • AWS • SQL • Big data

Preferred Skills: • Finance ind exp • Python • Java
