About the role
Role: Data Engineer Start Date: ASAP Shift: M-F 8:00am-5:00pm Location: 100% remote Contract Length: 6-24 months Vendor/Client: Apex/USAA Must have skills/technologies: • Python • Support production items (true enterprise production support) – shipping code, not making prototypes • 3.Machine Learning • 4.Datastage View: • Data or backend or machine learning • Need one expert level and familiar with the other two • Backend software dev w/ data science certificate • Python is used but any language works • Strong data background like datastage and some software dev with python for ETL Daily: • Improve on data science models- deploy and monitor in production • Deployments w/ day to day monitoring • Also quarterly monitoring- AI machine learning and check performance for tolerance (machine learning background helps here) • Ability to run reports/ analysis Data 1. Advanced SQL Expertise 2. Experience with relational databases, data warehousing, data modeling 3. ETL experience with at least one tool (i.e. DataStage, Informatica) 4. Experience with Big Data (preferably Hadoop, spark) 5. Experience with Cloud Data platforms (i.e. Snowflake/AWS) 6. Familiarity with Kafka / streaming data patterns 2. Backend Software Development 1. Experience with enterprise application development (preferably in Python, other languages are okay with a desire to learn Python) 2. Ability to develop unit testing of code components or complete applications 3. Shell scripting experience (Linux) 4. Version control/git experience 5. Familiarity with Agile / Software Development Lifecycle best practices 3. Machine Learning Operations 1. Basic understanding of various machine learning algorithms 2. Experience working with data scientists to advise and consult on model development practices 3. Familiar with architectural patterns for deploying and executing machine learning models 4. Experience with model governance for financial services use cases 5.
