About the role
Role: Data Engineer/Analyst w/ SQL and PowerBI Location: Remote (Must be local to Massachusetts) Duration: 6 months + contract 1. Top 3 requirements: • 5 + years of relevant experience in similar role(s), data and business analytics, reporting, warehouse development, data engineering • Senior level experience with T-SQL (writing stored procedures, functions and complex queries) • Senior level experience with PowerBI (complex DAX formulas, performance tweaking and advanced visualizations) • Experience gathering requirements and collaborating on requirements with stakeholders • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, analytical thinker and solution oriented. • HIGHLY DESIRED: Experience with creating pipelines in Azure Data Factory and using other data related resources in Azure Day to Day Responsibilities/project specifics: The team Global Support Office IT (GSO IT) is responsible for the corporate IT systems used by the global Ahold Delhaize organization, for close to half a million end-users spread across the globe. Our business consists of various operating companies (OpCo’s). They are responsible for providing services for our entire business: from Office 365 & Collaboration tools to implementations of new HR or Finance systems. As a data analyst you collect information from the different OpCo’s and prepare reports to provide insight into the state of our internal services. How well are we doing? How many incidents have been created and how many have we resolved? You work in an international team of process managers and one other data analyst. The Job As a data analyst / data engineer, you provide the business with insights and reports how our services perform. You work in a small team which gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the business about their needs as well as build and maintain the solutions you provide. You are successful when you provide the different stakeholders with actionable insights to reach the global targets. You will make an impact by: • Talk with business stakeholders to identify needs and gather requirements, define Service Quality parameters and Service Level requirements • Gather data from different data sources using flat files, APIs and other extraction methods • Build stored procedures and functions from scratch in T-SQL • Further develop, maintain and optimize the performance of our data warehouse and Azure environment • Monitor our Azure environment, data warehouse & reports; troubleshoot issues • Build and maintain existing reports in PowerBI with complex DAX formulas and Power M code • Write complex T-SQL queries and perform analysis on the data to provide new insights • Present your insights to the business stakeholders • Feed ideas into the backlog in close collaboration with the team and business Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Intelligence, in a related field or equivalent work experience and practical knowledge • 5-7 years of relevant experience in similar role(s), data and business analytics, reporting, warehouse development, data engineering • Senior level experience with T-SQL (writing stored procedures, functions and complex queries) • Senior level experience with PowerBI (complex DAX formulas, performance tweaking and advanced visualizations) • Medior level experience with creating pipelines in Azure Data Factory and using other data related resources in Azure • Experienced in working with ServiceNow and ITIL processes is an advantage • Comfortable with working in multi-vendor, internationally dispersed environment • Balanced IT/business background • Excellent English communication skills Thanks & Regards, Gousia Syed - Technical IT Recruiter Thought wave Software and Solutions 314 N.
