Data Modeler on W2

Title: Data Modeler Location: Chicago IL 1. Project Overview: will be involved in Trust Advisor Dashboard & Fixed Asset Depreciation project. 2. Contractor’s Role: * Be responsible for data classification and profiling, be able to follow define naming conventions, ability to trace data to the source, creation of DDL per defined naming conventions. 3. Experience Level: Level 3 4. Qualifications: * At least 4 years of a hands-on proven experience in Cognos 11 Data Analytics. * 4 years of experience and/or educational background in programming with a concentration in data science or related field. * Experience and/or educational background in Accounting and Finance is a plus * Proven ability to work with minimal supervision . Required Skills * Should be proficient in designing data model using Framework manager should know about Physical layer, business Layer , Presentation Layer , Determinants?, Stitch query etc. * Advance level of data analysis using SQL. * Understanding work- and process- flows, experience with business process optimization. * Positive work attitude and team spirit. 5. Nice to Haves: * Exposure to Snowflake Data Platform. * Exposure to IBM Data Stage * Exposure to Cognos Analytics * Exposure to Snowflake Data Platform. * Exposure to Python, DBT and/or Airflow * ability to use Power BI to visualize data patterns 6. Tasks & responsibilities: * Clearly understand difference between SK ( Surrogate Keys in OLTP data model ) vs SID ( System Generated ID ) for OLAP Data Model. * Clearly understand of what is Type1, Type 2 Slowly Changing Dimensions in OLAP Data Model * Clearly understand of how to keep history of changes in OLTP data model * Lead initiatives and coordinate resources to design and deliver high quality, reusable, data assets. * Performs data analyses for OLTP operational applications and OLAP warehouse databases. * Proven knowledge Data warehousing concepts, ETL concepts, SQL, PLSQL. * Proven knowledge of “Run Control” and “Metadata Management” concepts. * Experience and exposure on Agile Methodologies, Process. * Proven experience with Oracle DB. Ability to assist / investigate any DB SQL Tuning requirements. * Coordinate with Architect/TL to translate design into identify artifacts to be used by Data Engineers to develop code needed to maintain Modeled Data aka be able to create “Components Inventory” based on the proposed Data Models. * Support the development of standard data analyses using SQL and nonSQL tools like SQL Developer and etc.
