About the role
Role: Data Scientist
Location: 100% remote Duration: contract to hire. At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Data Scientist Advisor, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Data Scientist Advisor joining our team to evaluate the use of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to determine if models can better predict/categorize claims related to an incident/accident than the current claims filtering process. HOW A DATA SCIENTIST ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT ● Performs scientific work associated with the analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets; develop data-driven solutions to difficult business challenges ● Collaborates with data science/ML team members to integrate algorithms and models into automated processes WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: ● Education: Masters of Science or PhD ● Required Experience: 8+ years of related experience ● Required Technical Skills: SQL, AWS Sage Maker, Python, Glue, Git ● Security Clearance Level: N/A ● Required Skills and Abilities: Proven work experience as a Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar role Statistics background and knowledge of queuing theory Proven experience developing machine learning models using Python, Spark, and other packages in Amazon Sage Maker Experience with one or more: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Predictive Analytics, and Hadoop/Spark distributed processing Must have strong data visualization skills Expertise in SQL and NoSQL ● Preferred Skills: Data Science experience with healthcare claims analysis Problem-solving attitude High level of self-motivation and initiative ● Location: Remote ●US Citizenship Required GDIT IS YOUR PLACE: ● Full-flex work week to own your priorities at work and at home ● Cutting-edge technology you can learn from
