Job Title: Data scientist Location: Remote Overview: The talented individuals we seek combine successful experience in the healthcare data science industry with the leadership and confidence to work directly with client executives informing their business decisions. You will be working with Provider and Patient information and develop an ongoing strategy to merge multiple data sets to derive predictive insights. The Data Scientist will contribute to significant and time-sensitive projects. Overall, the Data Scientist is a self-motivated individual who works successfully with other data scientists and non-technical business colleagues, leads independent data analysis, prepares visually attractive reports and precise documentation. Confidently presents data analysis findings to internal and external clients, supports redactions protecting patient privacy, and drives high client satisfaction. Telling the story behind the insights is crucial to developing ongoing analysis and machine learning strategies. Primary Responsibilities: • Ability to diagnose the current posture of multiple data sets in different formats and different environments • Create a data science strategy to merge, bridge, and unify AI/ML models data to increase predictability. • Translate client business questions into proposed analysis plans, seek appropriate input from colleagues, and confirm client buy-in before proceeding. • Coordinate analysis with Third Parties as needed • Respond to inquiries and follow up on data validations • Provide routine recommendations based on analyzed data to solve various business problems and enable business strategy. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (customers, internal IT teams, digital and strategy, customer success, etc.) to understand business needs, ensure data integrity and flow efficiency, and create multiple stakeholder dashboards. • Work with Tableau, PowerBi, SQL, DOMO, or other data visualization tools • Provide quality validations and ongoing support of clients and projects. • Enhance or create new quality control methods to evaluate the accuracy of deliverables and project analyses. • Manipulate and build query statements to perform data extracts across multiple data sets and platforms. • Familiar with HIPPA / PII compliance when managing data sets Core Responsibilities: • Applies sound business practices, information, and technology to the current position • Produces clear tool extracts/reports to provide deliverables to customers that are clear and efficient. • Boardroom-ready presentations to both internal and external teams. • Contributes to RFPs and customer requests as necessary in collaboration with business development. • Collaborates with IT group to transform and prepare data for analysis. • Appropriately balances the quantity/quality of own work with the business situation; demonstrates enthusiasm, drive, and a sense of urgency when completing work. • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. • Strong analytical and assessment skills. • Strong ability to translate data, driving insights into decisions and actions. Qualifications: • 3+ years’ relevant experience in the healthcare industry and respective data sets for providers and patients. • Experience working with insurance, prescription, and patient claims data preferred. • Ability and desire to learn analytics commonly used to support operations in long-term care insurance, hospitalizations, elder care, diseases, and prescriptions • Knowledge of machine learning and predictive modeling • Understanding of relational databases, scripting languages, and statistical computing packages, including R, Python, Hadoop, and Oracle • Microsoft Azure, AWS and other cloud environments are a plus • Knowledge of applied statistics, including regression models. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a similar subject, or international equivalent • An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered in place of the education and experience stated above.
