About the role
Role: Data Scientist (with BSA experience)
Duration: 6 month CTH Location: Fully remote Visa: W2 role Rate: $65/hr on w2
Description: Not necessarily a senior person but someone like an actuarial analyst who wants to pursue more of a data science path than actuarial and has the technical aptitude and willingness to learn and grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering: • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and analytical requirements. • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data analysis and reporting.
- Data Management: • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes using SQL/Python to manage and manipulate large datasets. • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across various data sources.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: • Utilize Python to perform complex data analysis and generate actionable insights. • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaboration and Communication: • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure data solutions meet business requirements and project timelines. • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Technical Expertise: • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and insurance. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. • Proven experience in a data specialist role within the insurance industry. • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data analysis and ETL processes. • Experience with Databricks is a plus. • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills: • Knowledge of insurance industry data and metrics. • Experience with cloud-based data platforms. • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and tools.
