About the role
DB2 6 months extendable (I have people that have been there for 2-3 years) remote, MUST work EST hours or CST only Interview process: video screening code share with apex screener, 2 interviews to hire Must have: DB2 (version 11 or higher), LUW, SQL, someone that can write shell scripts from scratch, debugging with SQL and informatica OR snowflake. Main skill set: applications DBA with SQL that can find debugging and write SQL, someone that can write shell scripting from scratch, DB2 skills, and someone with just knowledge (JUST KNOWLEDGE) in Informatica or snowflake. This is finalized! This position is fully funded and ready to go! Only C2C are apex approved vendors, we can do a pass through. For only AV referral reqs, we can do on apex w-2 and referral fee. Just make sure if you are submitting C2C, put it in Ilabor and send it to me. Screenings will be an hour long.. It will be an hour screening with apex then final interview with the client. You can subvend if you are apex approved vendor for c2c. if you are just referral based business, let me know what you need. As a Senior DB2 Z DBA within our Workplace Data Operations team, this role will be focused on collaborating with a team of senior database administrators in the development of modern architectures to enable our data-driven digital business. You will help define our data strategies, grow our capabilities. Responsibilities: Creates schemas and sub-schemas in consultation with application project team. Submits recommendations for solutions that require definition of the physical structure and functional capabilities of databases and require data security and data backup/recovery specifications. Proposes detailed specifications and flowcharts and coordinates installation of revised or new database systems. Sets up and performs backup, recovery, and Stats Updates procedures. Works with relevant staff, to identify and transform business requirements into physical data models. Performs monitoring and tuning for performance, and recommends Application database enhancements. Develops transaction logging and security features. Understands and uses normalization methods and design methodologies. Develops, documents, and enforces the standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of the database system. Works with system engineers or application developer to evaluate and implement technical enhancements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field Five years of collective experience as a Senior DB2 Z DBA with Version 9,10.11, & 12 Experience with Online utilities, indexing strategies, index management and statistics for 500 million+ row tables. Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Attention to detail and results oriented, with a strong customer focus. The ability to work within a team environment. Problem-solving and communication skills. Hands on experience with DB2 Linux Version 11 (team will be moving to version 12) Hands on Informatica experience Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge BMC Monitoring Tools Knowledge of AWS and Azure (Azure SQL and DW) platforms, Knowledge of IDAA Office environment: Working remotely is okay NYC metro area preferred but will consider other geographic locations.
