DevOps Architect

Role- Senior Consultant, DevOps Architect/VMware/Linux + Icinga Duration- 6 Months Location- Remote Required Skills : Linux, Icinga, Vmware, Automation Job Description : The ideal candidate for this position can prioritize mission critical tasks and coordinate the construction and expansion of our systems so updates and other maintenance tasks don’t get in the way of daily operations. We’re interested in automating as many of our processes as possible to reduce the potential for human error. MUST HAVE Hands-on experience with Icinga Architect new solutions using DevOps and Best-practices to Systems Development 5+ years experience working and deploying Linux-based Systems Oversee the development and installation of new hardware and software Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software Provide technical direction to IT support staff Ensure constant availability of technical resources Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention 3+ years’ experience in IT support required Proven track record of success in installation and maintenance of LINUX-based software Experience creating automated scripts and software Exceptional networking skills and knowledge Administer Linux (Redhat 6,7) Servers, VMWare infrastructure, and Cisco UCS, performing patches, performing vulnerability management, upgrades Support IT Infrastructure operations including troubleshooting and maintenance of servers, networks, and systems as required 2+ years of VMWare experience 2+ years experience with Dell servers Demonstrated experience in patching servers to ensure security Work closely with other groups, including Development, Product Support Engineering and Program and Product Management to ensure successful deployment of software and services Strong Linux knowledge and skills including RedHat/Ubuntu, System Administration, User Management, Process Management, Services Management, Networking, Firewalls, SELinux Strong expertise in Security, SSH, TLS, Security Certificates, Encryption Strong scripting skills including Bash, other scripting/programming experience Strong expertise with Linux servers, clusters and applications including installation, configuration and management Strong diagnostics and debugging skills to address server, services, networking and application issues Desired experience / certifications with AWS, Azure, Virtualization technologies Desired skills working with CM tools, processes and best practices, including Git Strong ability to work independently taking high level directions and putting the solution in place Fast learner, ability to research and pick up new technologies and skills Perform analysis of the organization's business needs, translate line of business requirements into use cases, design and implementation services for automating system delivery Develop, deploy, and maintain Linux delivery catalog Participate in the development of standards and decisions regarding changes to systems/applications. Identify open source tools, languages, and technologies for accelerating system delivery by leveraging automation and infrastructure orchestration techniques. Define methods and practices for executing change management policies in medium scale server environments. Analyze new emerging technologies in the Configuration Management space and translate functionality of the new technology into an effective IT vision and strategy Keep up-to-date on business trends and the latest technology innovations to forecast solutions, and anticipate emerging business changes Collaborate with other technologists across the enterprise to assess current capabilities and bridge the gaps with legacy and future systems Mentor and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team. Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
