Candidate starts remote but must be open to relocate to NY

Even After ONSITE 3 days REMOTE work 2 Days ONSITE

DOCSIS Test Engineer assists in the Certification, Testing and Implementation of new and existing solutions and technologies. The DOCSIS Test Engineer will be responsible for documenting lab network configurations, lab procedures and test results. The technologies of interest include, but are not limited to DOCSIS, FTTx and Wireless.

Responsibilities

• Participates in solutions planning meetings. • Attends vendor presentations and meetings • Supports evaluation equipment installations and turn-ups. • Plans and implements lab test environments. • Develops and executes test procedures. • Documents lab testing environment and achieved results. • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. • Knowledge and Skills: • 5 years + of work experience in relevant field. • Knowledge of HFC / DOCSIS, VoIP networks and Tools required: • Cable Modems • CMTS’s • ACS (Auto Configuration Server) • SNMP • Strong Knowledge of wireless network (Wi-Fi) concepts and standards is required • IEEE 802.11 (WLAN) • Strong Knowledge of IP networking principles and relevant protocols required. • IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) • Knowledge of FTTx technologies (G-PON, etc.) • Knowledge of LINUX, Windows and SUN Solaris operating systems. • Experienced in use of electronic test tools (Multi-meter, RF Meter, etc.) • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages; BASH, PERL, Python, etc. • Must be proficient in the use of Office tools such as Word, Excel, Project, and Visio.
