Firmware Engineer

Role:Firmware Engineer Duration:6 Months Location:Hybrid Onsite – Eagan, MN Project/Scope: Will be supporting embedded systems for Ecolab’s IoT devices across the institutional, specialty (quick service retailers), health, and pest LOBs. They have multiple projects going at any given time, some examples of systems they might support are control systems for pools, spas, on-prem laundry, etc. Responsibilities: Work cross-functionally with Ecolab’s product owners, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers to understand business needs and convert them to technical specifications Develop embedded firmware to integrate software and hardware systems developed across Ecolab Data validations and database management to ensure they embedded systems are reporting data properly May be asked to support multiple projects at the same time May be asked to work with offshore teams in Germany, China, and Bangalore Must Haves: 3+ years of experience in embedded system development – must be professional experience, cannot consider internship experience Needs to be specific RTOS embedded firmware experience Need to have microcontroller-based embedded experience Bare metal development C programming experience Must have object-oriented programming experience Modbus or other relevant communication protocols (I2C, SPI, etc) Hardware/schematic design experience Wireless technologies experience – specifically looking for Bluetooth experience Communication/soft skills – will be working cross-functionally.
