JAVA DEVELOPER

We are looking for an application developer to imagine, create, and support the ways interacts with our customers. In this role, you will work with business units and analysts to identify and understand business problems and goals and design, implement, and support the solutions to those goals. Support deployed software by investigating issues and rolling out needed patches • Develop high quality, secure, scalable & maintainable software, abiding by coding standards • Review code with other developers to share project and technical knowledge • Deploy projects within build and deploy pipeline, includes transitioning first line support to IT Ops team • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and QA testers to plan and execute in a high-energy Agile environment • Participate in technical planning, determine tasks associated with project assignments, estimates and dependencies • Work with Enterprise Architecture to design software solutions that supports the Mortgage Insurance life cycle • Update and modernize code to the latest supported versions to ensure security, stability, and support • Flex to work with new technologies and tools as explores new ways to deliver business solutions • Further develop continuous testing and secure coding standards • Effectively communicate project status and deliveries to team and management • Mentor and counsel junior teammates Experience: • Between 2 and 5 years of experience using Java (or similar language) • Experience with Agile methodology using Scrum or similar • Working knowledge of Angular, Spring, Hibernate, API development, web-enabled applications, and relational databases • Ability to create and execute test cases using Junit with a mindset toward continuous testing • Ability to create scalable technical solution designs • Strong communication and collaboration skills (upward, lateral and downward) • Eye on continuous improvement • Forward thinking on long-term vision/goals • Experience with Service Now ticketing, a plus • Experience with JIRA, a plus
