Hi, I’m Sumanth Burre from Thought wave, I hope you are doing well, Regarding the below role, if you are interested, please do send me your updated resume to sumanth@thoughtwavesoft.com or call me at 630-491-8479 ASAP Role: Java DevOps Engineer Location: Remote Contract: W2 Development Methodology: Agile – 2 weeks Must-Haves (Concepts & Tools): • Java (8 in GPS and 11 in the new platform) / Springboot – 11 is preferred • Micro services, Collections & multi-threading experience • Database skills (Oracle) – write good SQL, doesn’t have to be an expert but should know how to query, do joins, call procedures etc. • Testing – Test Automation – majority is in Junit and Selenium (tools are nice to have) • Operational Expertise – Prod support (incident & feature load) experience in DevOps specifically, Splunk monitoring experience (specifically setting up monitoring / instrumentation and also being able to react when detected) – there is an SRE team so they are not expecting this • Could be ok with Dynatrace or other tools similar to Splunk • Container experience (moving to K8 later next year) • Cloud – OpenShift and/or Azure • Fine with other cloud products • Git / Jenkins / Maven – don’t have to hit all three of these exactly, but this would be really nice to see • Desire to learn new things Nice-to-Haves: • UI • TDD • K8 Project Scope: Working on a billing and enrollment for Medicare / retirement application. The entire application is monolithic (Java/J2ee) that they are going to break it up and modernize to full Micro services architecture. Will be moving everything over to Azure. The team is heavier on the operations side of the house now, so they are starting to shift things to wanting to hire more Development experience w/in the DevOps team.
