Responsibilities of the Jr. Data Engineer

• Establish an Amazon S3 bucket to create a data lake, pulling data from two different systems as well as SharePoint files to identify: all locations such as third-party vendor data centers where any client sourced or generated data is stored, the storage mechanism (e.g., physical hard drives, virtual machine images, tapes), details of the data stored, and age of the data stored from 2009 through the present. • Configure AWS Glue Crawlers to scan data sets and populate a Glue Data Catalog, which will serve as a central metadata repository • Utilize Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, and Amazon EMR to analyze data once data is catalogued in Glue • Develop and run reports to report data inventory as a deliverable to our client

Required Experience of the Jr. Data Engineer: • At least 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst/Engineer using the following tools:  AWS Cloud  Amazon Simple Storage Solutions (Amazon S3)  AWS Glue ETL • Experience with migration of modern databases and data processing services • Experience developing BI reports, dashboards, and/or predictive analytics using BI tools such as Birst, Power BI, Microstrategy, Tableau, AWS Quicksight, OBIEE, etc. • Familiarity with service oriented environment and best development practices. • Fundamental knowledge of iterative developments and applications of Agile concepts and principles.

Desired Experience of the Jr. Data Engineer: • 4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst/Engineer • Experience with modern (e.g., cloud) design principles and best practices • Experience with data architecture and data storage • Amazon Redshift • Amazon Quicksight • Data Warehousing • Data Architecture • SQL • Relational Databases • SSRS • Python • Scala • ERD

Education Requirements: • BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline.
