About the role
Role: Jr Java Developer Location: 100% REMOTE Duration: 6+ Months Candidate ensures application of systems thinking principles, allowing team members to independently design, code, test, and deploy software. Provide the necessary documentation to support the software Development Life Cycle. Develop prototypes and solutions leveraging a diverse range of technology. Apply modern principles, methodologies, tools, and systemic processes to support the launch new business capabilities. Must Haves: Encode, test, and debug associated software/ programs. Review, analyse, and modify core and customized software. Respond to customer inquiries/requests for technical/operational support. Resolve technical matters to meet customer service level agreements. Perform root cause analysis/fixes or corrective action of defects. Follow documented Software Development Life-Cycle standards. Escalate issues to senior levels as required. This position is full-time and may require after hours or on-call support including, but not limited weekends and evenings. Qualifications Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 2 years of professional experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding in the following areas: Java technologies using Java 1.4 and greater, JSP, XML: Web Technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript. 2 Understanding of web services technologies such as REST, HTTPS, JSON. Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor.
