Role: Lead Java Developer Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire Location: 100% Remote Report To Required Skills Senior Java little front end required (preferably React) Some experience leading a team (no formal experience required) Basic Qualifications Cloud and big data experience are nice to have Qualification Notes: Need: Principal lead just left the company so this is that backfill. Team is lacking a leader right now. Team: Guided Health – very data intensive team, goal is to look at analytics and discover opportunities for prescription mgmt. and intervention Requirements: This is not front end focused – very back end heavy! Strong Java experience is a must have Big Data nice to have (2nd skill preferred) – not specific but team is going Mongo Any cloud experience is a nice to have – also not specific PBM helpful but not required The soft skills will be super important here – ability to mentor others on the team but also be in discussions with architects, POs, complete design work, etc.…. Will be the tech POC on the team. Cannot be heads down. Official Job Description: The Lead Java Systems Developer IT is responsible for providing a high degree of technical knowledge in application systems development and design. This position will provide technical consultative advice and instruction to the team and our business partners. This position is responsible for leading the team to design, develop, test, and document complex application business solutions. This position is responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting systems and procedures. Collaborating with other team members by providing technical advice and training will be a core function of the position. This position will be part of the Guided Health Technical team. Guided Health is one of Prime's foundational integrated and differentiating clinical products. This product is critical to optimizing Prime's total drug management capabilities. The technical team provides the ability to review pharmacy and medical claims, to identify opportunities for intervention, improve health outcomes and lower the overall cost of care. Members of the team are responsible for application support. This may include weekend or evening requirements. Responsibilities Lead Systems Developer IT team to analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware, operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs Develop and apply theories and methods to solve complex technological problems; code or modify, test, and debug programs of difficult complexity Manage work direction, lead and influence, and provide feedback to others within team Review code & design quality Participate in staffing plans to identify subject matter experts (SMEs) and provide feedback for staff performance reviews Own application(s) within area, including proactive monitoring and communication of overall health and future sustainability Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required 5 years of experience with application development or package software implementation that includes Java development experience Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship Additional Qualifications Ability to manage work direction and lead, influence, mentor, and provide feedback to others within team Established presenter of technical and non-technical material adapted to the respective audience Ability to transition abstract concepts into stable and supportable software solutions Ability to develop unbiased options and recommendations to technical problems and unbiased comparisons Strong problem-solving and analysis skills Strong traits of decisiveness and judgment Excellent documentation skills Preferred Qualifications Background in Microservice Architecture with Spring Boot Big Data/Data Analytics – MongoDB, Casandra, TeraData or similar Automated testing frameworks - Cucumber, Gherkin or Similar Cloud Computing – Vmware Tonzu, GCP or similar User Interface Design and Development – REACT, Angular or Similar Dev OPS - CI/CD Pipeline Kotlin and Docker Kafka or other event streaming platform.
