About the role
Liferay Engineer Remote Contract Top 3 requirements Liferay Web Experience (not building any mobile portal apps) ECMAScript JQuery HTML / SASS / CSS JavaEE (this is the base of Liferay) - NOTE – they will NOT be working on the backend services & data, but every LR Developer should have Baseline Testing (Unit / Integration / Automated testing) DevOps basics – GitHub / Code Deploy Project Scope: Full term project – building out a new provider portal for Medicare. There are additional CMS requirements because it is a part of Medicare. Portal has to be functioning by 10/1. Team Size & Breakdown: Currently 4-5 engineers that have some LR experience – stood up 5 portals that are utilizing LR. 2 consultant / 3 FTE Merging legacy teams that will make up 30+ resources to groom them all and grow Dedicated QE resources that handle testing Development Methodology: Agile – 2 week sprints – morning sprints 9 CST (flex if we’re finding west coast) High-Level Individual Duties: Wrap up the Medicare requirements + work on building / deploying other LR apps. Description: The Liferay Application Developer shall create new and update existing MagellanRx Portal web applications written in the Java and JavaScript programming language. The contractor will be developing and maintaining Liferay portlet applications, working with end users to set migration schedules, identify features, and provide bug fixes for end users. Java developer services are required for the continued development of features and content in the MagellanRx Liferay web portal.
o 5-7 years of experience in Development, Administration, Deployment, Up-gradation of Liferay Portal with high volume and high-reliability requirements. o Strong knowledge and experience in n-tier web applications, with knowledge of the different tiers, including web servers, application servers, databases and infrastructure. o Creating and managing Liferay Portal themes. o Design and Development of Portal using Liferay out of box portlets, Liferay MVC Portlets, Spring MVC portlets, Struts portlets depending on the requirement. o Designing the application as per the mock ups shared by the UI team by using the UI technologies like CSS, JS, Ajax, jQuery, Bootstrap, Alloy UI. o Experience in building Amazon Cloud Services
- 3 month contract and contract to hire Full-Stack Developer Skills and Qualifications: Front-end technology: Good understanding and knowledge in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as NodeJs, ReactJs, jQuery and LESS
Development languages: Knowledge of server-side programming languages including Java and Springboot
Database and cache: Familiarity with DBMS technology, including DynamoDB and MySQL and caching mechanisms such as Redis and Memcached will be a plus
Basic design ability: Including knowledge of UI/UX and basic prototype design
Server: Knowledge of Nginx or Apache servers with a solid background in Linux
Good writing and communication skills Ability to visualize a proposed system and be able to build it Ready to learn new things. Knowledge of Amazon Cloud Services (EC2, Lambda) is a plus
