ROLE:Linux Administrator
LOCATION:Aberdeen, MD DURATION:12+ Months Rate:$45-$55/hr on w2 Clearance- Must have Active Secret Clearance
Must Haves from Manager: Must have hands on experience with Linux (RedHat) Must have scripting experience with either Bash or Powershell. Must have experience VMWare/vCenter. Must hold DoD 8570 IAT-II (Security +) prior to start date and CSSP-Infrastructure Support certification within 3 months of start. Must hold Computing Environment Certification prior to start date.
Job Description: The Defense Group is currently seeking a Journeyman Systems Administrator to work in APG MD This position provides senior level Linux systems administration support for all C5ISR Center DCSB Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) Security Operations Center (SOC) equipment.
Primary Responsibilities o Supports change and control boards and provide installation, configuration, engineering, administration, and accreditation documents/diagrams for the infrastructure life cycle replacements upgrades, enhancements, and new technology deployments
o Supports design, installs, maintenance and coordination of the use of network systems.
o Supports training of users, maintains, creates and deletes user accounts.
o Supports key project/program objectives and deliverables.
o Coordinate with Operations and Engineering, providing technical support for Linux devices supporting the security monitoring of networks
o Supports creation of infrastructure and rack elevation diagrams
o Supports maintenance Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) compliance on all security devices
o Supports development of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M)
o Monitor, organize and work collaboratively in a technological environment to support an established collaborative work environment
o Support and sometimes lead systems engineering efforts for new system development efforts or critical system enhancements and patches engineering and configuration management processes
o Actively mentor junior system administrator personnel and reinforce adoption of best practices
o Supports development of functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinates with support teams on systematic enhancements or changes
o Promotes research and implementation of automation and process efficiencies
Basic Qualifications: o Strong command line Linux (preferably Red Hat) o Basic scripting skills o Familiarity with VMWare/vCenter o General knowledge of IP networking o Ability to problem solve and work independently. o Desire to learn new technologies and cyber skills. o Knowledge of computer security principles and DoD security protocols o Knowledge of security policies and general vulnerabilities management o Experience and familiarity with change control processes o Ability to support creation of network topology and rack elevation diagrams. o Must hold DoD 8570 IAT-II (Security +) prior to start date and CSSP-Infrastructure Support certification within 3 months of start. o Must hold Computing Environment Certification prior to start date.
