Role: Machine Learning Engineer

Duration: 6+ months Location: Remote Visa: W2/C2C role Rate: $80/hr IV Process- 1 Step and Done

Job Description: We are looking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead the Proof of Concept (PoC) and Pilot phases for a Language Model (LLM) application in collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs). This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an incubation project within a multi-institution higher education environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PoCs by collaborating closely with SMEs to understand business requirements for the LLM application. - Utilize the RAG (Research, Apply, Generate) approach to implement and experiment with LLM applications. - Stay abreast of the latest trends in Generative AI, applying innovative solutions to enhance business value. - Evaluate and compare various LLM models to identify the optimal fit for specific business use cases. - Consolidate insights gained during proof of concepts for future project phases. - Implement and showcase solutions on local workstations/notebooks, facilitating interactive demonstrations to SMEs. - Engage in daily sessions with SMEs to gather feedback, ensuring alignment with business objectives. - Iterate and experiment with diverse methods to optimize the LLM solution based on evolving business needs. - Leverage knowledge of scoring and generating recommendations for student assignments, aligning with rubrics when applicable. - Continue research initiatives for the pilot and future phases upon successful completion of the PoC.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in implementing LLM applications, preferably using the RAG approach. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an experimental mindset. - Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with non-technical SMEs. - Proficiency in researching and applying the latest trends in Generative AI. - Demonstrated ability to compare and choose appropriate LLM models for specific use cases. - Experience in consolidating insights from PoCs for future project phases. - Capable of implementing solutions locally and conducting impactful demonstrations to SMEs. - Ability to collect and incorporate feedback into iterative development processes. - Familiarity with scoring and generating recommendations for student assignments based on rubrics is a plus. - Proactive approach to continuing research efforts beyond the PoC phase.
