About the role
Role- Mainframe Programmer Location- 100%Remote Duration- 4 Months Required Skills • Senior level experience • COBOL • DB2 • CICS Basic Qualifications Project: 3 teams that are supporting the Core Credit Card Journey (“everything from cradle to grave regarding credit cards” per the manager). HM didn’t have detail on exact projects Responsibilities: • Hands on development • Will be responsible for leading/guiding 3-4 offshore resources – answering questions, helping with any issues in their projects, etc. Must Haves: • Senior level experience – ideally 10+ years • COBOL • DB2 • CICS – should have some understanding, ideally should be able to code in CICS • Experience leadin offshore teams Nice to Haves: • Banking/Credit Card experience • Test Automation Hiring Manager Update/Summary 10+ years’ experience Expertise with RPG400, RPG III, COBOL, or SYNON in an AS/400 environment, or COBOL or C in one of a variety of mid-range platforms such DEC VAX or HP3000. AS/400 Programmer, VAX Programmer, HP Programmer. Performs all or part of full life cycle development process with an emphasis on developing business applications, supporting existing applications, modifying/enhancing them support current needs, and implementing the changes necessary as the needs of the business unit’s change. Usually involves high-volume and large-scale batch or online processing. The ideal candidate must have: 2+ years’ experience leading an offshore team, also have exposure or practical experience with Test Automation frameworks.
