About the role
Role- Mainframe Programmer Duration- 12 Months Location- 100% Remote Required Skills : This specific team is the “Rising Rhinos”. They are looking for someone who is strong technically in both DB2 and CICS, can speak well to their experience and who is CURRENTLY coding. Must Haves: • Senior level experience – ideally 10+ years • COBOL • DB2 • CICS – should have some understanding, ideally should be able to code in CICS • Experience leading offshore teams Basic Qualifications : Responsibilities: • Hands on development • Will be responsible for leading/guiding 3-4 offshore resources – answering questions, helping with any issues in their projects, etc. Additional Skills : Nice to Haves: • Banking/Credit Card experience • Test Automation Job Description : The ideal candidate must have: 10+ years’ experience Expertise with RPG400, RPG III, COBOL, or SYNON in an AS/400 environment, or COBOL or C in one of a variety of mid-range platforms such DEC VAX or HP3000. AS/400 Programmer, VAX Programmer, HP Programmer. Performs all or part of full life cycle development process with an emphasis on developing business applications, supporting existing applications, modifying/enhancing them support current needs, and implementing the changes necessary as the needs of the business unit’s change. Usually involves high-volume and large-scale batch or online processing. 2+ years’ experience leading an offshore team, also have exposure or practical experience with Test Automation frameworks. This position offers the unique opportunity to utilize the below Test Automation tools as part of our Mainframe Modernization efforts as related to batch processing: • GitLab • DB2/SPUFI Nice to have skills: • IDz • Java • JSON • ECMAScript / JavaScript • File Manager API (IBM z/OS Connect Enterprise Edition) • Jenkins or other CI/CD orchestration software • Kubernetes • Other languages such as SAS, Focus or Easytrieve and REXX Notes to Vendor : This is a backfill for one of our current CE's. They are giving us first priority since it’s our backfill and will be setting up IV’s asap. 1 and done client interviews!
