Middleware Engineer

Role: Middleware Engineer Rate: $40/HR W2 Location: Remote Duration: 6 Months Manager Notes: This candidate will report into the Development Services organization to support Prime’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with JBOSS and Apache. This candidate ideally would also have experience in Jenkins, Ansible, Ansible Tower, BitBucker and Subversion. This candidate should have an automation and continuous improvement mindset, and agile methodologies. Other technologies supported on this team include WebSphere, MQ, Adobe Experience Manager, Subversion and Bitbucket. This role will be part of an on-call off hour rotation. Prime Therapeutics is going through an exciting technology transformation and is looking to add to their current team to offer solutions, support, and automation for Prime’s Middleware platforms. This candidate will report into the Development Services organization to support Prime’s infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with JBOSS and Apache. RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE • Assisting in the day-to-day support of Middleware technologies • Focus on the support of JBOSS and Apache services. This includes upgrades, patches and support. • Collaboration with other horizontal support teams and development teams to drive sustainable solutions • Document standards and approaches/ • Willing to learn and support other Middleware technologies • Work in an agile methodology (e.g. Agile ceremonies, standup, Iterative Planning Meetings, Pair Programming) with a focus on the Extreme Programming Model • Responsible for staying current with enterprise and industry standards, technologies, methodologies and best practices WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? / WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED? • Minimum 1 years of experience JBOSS, Apache administration • Motivated to automate manual processes • Ability to identify issues, support and provide real time solutions • Familiar with Framework/Technologies: JBOSS, Apache, Git, Jira, CI & CD tools, artifact repository tools, and automation scripting via Ansible. • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Operating Systems • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written to multiple levels of the organization • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with immediate team members, other IS areas, and clients in other departments • Strong ability to work on assigned and self-directed tasks with an emphasis on delivering results WHAT ELSE? • Experience with WebSphere, MQ, Subversion, WSO2 or Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus. • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work across the organization, excellent synthesizing and organization skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to participate in a team environment are key to this position. • Challenge the status quo, the Development Services team has been empowered to challenge how the organization operates.
