Job Description Summary ***Candidates must be willing and able to come to the office in person for important meetings or working sessions. In person meetings will be in Raleigh, NC. These are expected to be minimal and the vast majority of the work can be remote. ***The candidate will need to come onsite the first day to collect equipment.
NCDOA is looking for a .Net developer to make enhancements to the Division of Non Public Education's web portal and database application. The portal facilitates the registration of and communication with home schools in North Carolina. It is a mature application, but requires several feature enhancements to comply with legislative requirements.
Candidate should be independent in coding in .NET but willing to ask questions if needed. Current team is a close group and we are seeking a person with the necessary technical skills to add value to the team and take direction from the lead developer on site while having excellent social and team skills to integrate with the current team.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills within the structure of a cohesive team that seeks solutions as a team and solutions that can be maintained by the team.
The candidate will be responsible for developing .NET solutions from the User Stories defined and prioritized by the business, engage in all SCRUM ceremonies and exhibit independence while ensuring they follow the standards and direction of the Team Lead.
Description (including, but not limited to):
- Development and enhancement of applications based on established design specifications
- Analysis, design, coding, component/assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team
- Implementing configuration changes to software applications to meet both functional and technical requirements
- Writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions, maintenance (including production support)
- Unit testing applications and developing system and user documentation
