Must Haves:

1. Mainframe experience--7-10 years
2. Interfacing with different teams and levels of stakeholders
3. Good Communication and interpersonal skills
4. Looking for CICS and TCP/IP, MQ Messaging experience. Preferences include IMS/TM.

Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced Senior z/OS Transaction and Network System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems. Experience working with a managed service provider is essential. Key Responsibilities: • Deploy, maintain, and optimize IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems. • Monitor and troubleshoot transaction and network systems to ensure high availability and performance. • Collaborate with managed service providers to ensure seamless integration and support of z/OS systems. • Develop and implement system enhancements and optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability. • Perform system upgrades and apply patches to maintain system security and compliance. • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures. • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field--preferred but not required. Okay with experience over degrees. • 5+ years of experience in z/OS transaction and network system engineering. • Proficiency in IMS/TM, CICS, CICS TG, MQ Messaging, TCP/IP, and z/OS network systems. • Experience working with managed service providers. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Certifications in relevant technologies are a plus. Preferred Skills: • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages. • Knowledge of security best practices for z/OS systems. Familiarity with cloud integration and hybrid environments.
