Platform Engineer Remote 12+ months Top Requirements: 8 years DevOps + Bachelor’s (more exp is fine in lieu of degree) GCP preferred, or AWS Github Advanced Security Azure DevOps Python ServiceNow DevOps Job Description Apex Systems is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer to support our Education Organization client. The Sr. Platform Engineer will be responsible for implementing cloud platforms and DevOps tooling to improve the developer experience. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of containerization, CI/CD patterns, scriptwriting, and knowledge of distributed systems and architectures. Title: Sr. Platform Engineer Location: Remote unless residing 50mi from Chicago, IL; Columbia, MD; Minneapolis, MN; or Miramar, FL (hybrid 3x/week) Shift: 9-5pm ET Job Requirements: Developing, deploying, and maintaining DevOps tooling and infrastructure to make the software delivery system run seamlessly. Build scalable infrastructure to manage CI/CD systems (either GCP and AWS) and applications. Minimize risk of reliability related failure outcomes as pertaining to durability, availability, performance. Required Qualifications: Eight (8) plus years of working knowledge of DevOps and application deployment processes. Four (4) plus years of experience configuring and debugging automated CI/CD pipelines (experience with GitHub is preferred). Advanced knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Ability to use NewRelic as a monitoring tool for manual scripts Familiarity with DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) metrics Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Terraform Background working with GitHub Advanced Security Education/Certifications: BS or higher in Computer Science
