About the role
Role: Power BI Developer
Duration: Long Term contract Location: Charlotte (preferred), Dallas, Phoenix, New York/New Jersey, Minneapolis, Des Moines – must be onsite 3 days/week Visa: Must work on w2 Rate: $65 hour pay
Job Description: Seeking a Power BI Developer to assist a Finance team in designing, building, and deploying data and reports into new Power BI reports and self-service dashboards. This will be done while ensuring quality data to enable business partners.
Duties & Responsibilities: • Ability to build Power BI Reports/ Dashboards and Reports by connecting to varied data sources • Estimate technical requirements and breaks down work to user stories and tasks. • Design and work on proof of concepts that can be demonstrated to the customer. • Become customers trusted technical advisor and subject-matter expert. • Establish best practices and guide team. • Experience in Excel and Advanced excel. • Should work as an Individual contributor • Ability to Perform Data Cleansing and Data Profiling. • Ability to optimize report performance. • Ability to organize and lead meetings with business and operational data owners • Work closely with business stakeholder, data analyst and data engineering team to perform data transformation. • Understand the business requirements/ questions to be answered • Design and align on mock-ups • Work with Data engineering team closely to perform data extraction and data transformation processes to create the data set required for the dashboard • Develop the mock-up design in Power BI and load the dashboard with real data • Implement feedback from business users and create final version of the PB reports • Scale, maintain and improve existing solutions • Prepare holistic documentations (process and technical) to enable proper knowledge transfer of both process and solution to the production team • Migration from other BI tools into Power BI would be an added advantage.
Experience: • 7+ years of design and development with Power BI reports • Ability to effectively build large data sets • Traditional reporting with Power BI and SQL • Financial Reporting Experience – P&L would be preferred • Any Essbase exposure is nice to have
