About the role

Role: Python developer
Contract: 6 months Location :100% Remote
Top 3-5 things 5 years of Python experience Looking for a solid, pure OOP. Not a data engineer, quant developer, data scientist etc. SQL
Finance preferred – but not a must have
Project need Our group is Clear derivatives risk technology, responsible for everything risk for our larger team: futures, options and cleared OTC (back office/middle office group). We spend a lot of time sending risk data downstream, and the risk team which is a 3rd party vendor also sends a ton of data downstream. Right now we are using old school RPG built data streams and we want to modernize.
We are looking to come up with our own data model to look at the equities options, futures and OTC. Once we modernize that we’ll need someone to come in and use Python and SQL to cut files into our new format.
Eventually the general idea is once we get this data set finalized, we have all these other groups that we pull data from, so building out a data lake or something similar is what we’re going to want to do. Ideally, this person would have experience working in such an environment and could almost be a SME or offer guidance for us to eventually get to that point.
70/30 Python/SQL dev ratio
