Reporting Governance Specialist

Title: Senior Report Governance Specialist Duration: 6+ Months Location: Remote Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Report Governance Specialist for a minimum 6-month remote contract with our direct client. This role is critical to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness of business reports and analytics through governance oversight and robust validation practices. Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing data pipelines to identify control and governance gaps Review and validate report outputs using SQL and Python Audit SQL queries, Python scripts, and data validation logic for accuracy and best practices Write and maintain data quality rules and documentation Implement and monitor report governance processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data/report alignment with business definitions Utilize data governance tools (such as Collibra) to manage metadata and report inventories Perform root cause analysis of data/reporting issues and drive resolution Required Skills: 8+ years of experience in data/report governance or related roles Strong expertise in SQL and Python for auditing, data mining, and data validation Solid experience in AWS data services (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, etc.) Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, and data modeling Experience with data governance platforms like Collibra Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented with strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction Nice to Have: Experience in healthcare, finance, or regulated industry environments Knowledge of BI/reporting platforms (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) for lineage and usage tracking Familiarity with metadata management practices and tools -- Thanks & Regards, Pallavi Reddy| Technical Recruiter Thoughtwave Software and Solutions Desk: 630-228-9745 , EXTN:167 Email: pallavi@thoughtwavesoft.com
