Job description: Key Responsibilities: • Act as the primary technical expert for Ruby on Rails development, providing guidance and best practices to the development team. • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure Ruby on Rails applications. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives. • Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and enforce coding standards and best practices. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in Ruby on Rails and related frameworks. • Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure the scalability and maintainability of applications. • Work closely with DevOps teams to streamline deployment processes and ensure CI/CD pipelines are efficient. • Provide technical documentation and support for ongoing projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails developer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. • In-depth knowledge of Ruby, Rails framework, and associated libraries and tools. • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular. • Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Client Cloud) and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes. • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills: • Experience with API development and integration (RESTful and GraphQL). • Knowledge of testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI. • Understanding of security best practices in web application development.
