SCALA ENGINEER

Role: Scala Engineer Location: 100%remote Duration: six Months This is a Back End Engineer role with a focus on Scala, Asynchronous coding, Devops, Java, SQL skills and JSON formatting. Kafka skills are preferred but not required. If you have any strong SCALA, candidates that are over rate you can send them as well. Project: Working on coaching platform that helps to improve help. This app is "Quit for life" - stopping smoking was an example, but there are coaches, chat features, SMS etc. Small micro services development, there is also a mobile app and integration with SFDC Health Cloud. Looking for strong API design. Something they are weak at is requirements analysis. One example is importing a service and there is a ton of questions around that. They will have to work with Product Owners frequently. Must haves: • Scala – ABSOLUTE MUST  REST based micro services • Asynchronous coding / pub-sub and MQs (Kafka is preferred but not a requirement) • Relational and No relational DBs experience...need to have good SQL skills and understand JSON formatting  Basic indexing is a must (they use a Scala library called slick that does all of the transformations and kicks out a SQL query) ß this is ‘slick’  SQL skills • Modern App Dev  DevOps  Testing Nice to have: • Kafka • Third part API integration • Any experience with functional mapping tools (Slick / Hibernate / ORM) Thanks & Regards, Naveen Sai - Technical Recruiter Thought wave Software and Solutions 314 N.
