Location: NEED TO BE ABLE TO RELOCATE TO A VERISK LOCATION HERE IS A LIST Boston San Francisco, CA Jersey City, NJ White Plains, NY New York City Carlsbad, CA Canton, OH Chicago, IL Houston, TX Lehi, UT HEAVY AWS Job Description: About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Verisk CTO’s Cloud Center of Excellence team supporting Verisk member companies in their migration to public clouds (AWS (90%)/Azure (5%)/GCP (5%)). The ideal candidate will have broad software engineering & architecture experience, both application-level and cloud infrastructure, with demonstrated experience in migrating complex solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will participate in building and supporting the cloud migration framework, assess existing platforms, design future state, and execute the migration of applications and infrastructure to cloud-native solutions. The role requires solid experience in cloud computing environments, hands-on technical skills, passion and appetite to master new technologies, and excellent communication skills. About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role Deliver the core and foundational cloud services that meet the highest security, compliance, and operational standards Establish architectural standards that enable DevOps practices with infrastructure as code and automated continuous integration and continuous deployment Design secure solutions that leverage cloud services and are aligned to Verisk enterprise security requirements and best practices Continuously manage, monitor, and update operations architecture models as business needs evolve and additional cloud services become available Participate in code review/approval process Qualifications About You and How You Can Excel in This Role Minimum of 5 years of application architecture, cloud infrastructure, and automation experience Minimum of 5 years of software development/coding experience Experience architecting cloud infrastructure on AWS for small, medium scale and enterprise-scale applications Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure and GCP AWS Certified Architect and/or Developer; Associate considered, Professional preferred In-depth understanding of AWS CloudFormation (nested stacks, custom resources, macros). Experience with AWS CDK is a big plus Hands-on experience with cloud adoption and migration from assessment through cloud-native implementation Experience coding in a higher-level programming language: Java, Go, NodeJS or Python Technical knowledge of infrastructure components (network, storage, Linux, Windows), security and application development Experience implementing AWS serverless and related managed services for web & mobile applications and APIs including Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge Experience with container orchestration platforms (ECS, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS/GKE, Faregate).
