About the role
Role: Senior PowerBI Developer Location: 100% Remote Duration: Six (6) months with possible follow-on engagements The PowerBI Developer will help a medium-sized Transportation Finance company to convey the story of a Finance Company to the investors and larger banks that will enable it to secure additional funding, all through the medium of automated PowerBI reports. Their objective will be to ensure that the final reports tell a complete and coherent story consistent with requirements laid out in a Backlog, are flexible enough to enable business super users to self-serve a range of analytical questions, and that the data retains its meaning through a predefined range of slicing & dicing to serve anticipated use cases. Qualifications/Certifications: · 7+ years’ experience in report/BI development · Expert experience building dashboards/reports utilizing Power BI · Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification or 3+ years developing reports in PowerBI · 3+ years working in model-driven analytics projects · 3+ years working in CI/CD environment · Previous experience initializing PowerBI environment, including Gateway, for Desktop users · Proficient in SQL, DAX, M Query, Data flows, and Datasets Responsibilities: · Understand requirements as listed in the Backlog, asking questions to close any gaps in understanding · Understand how the Data Model satisfies those requirements, asking questions to close any gaps in understanding · Review and participate in the development of technical design documents and Data Model · Build PowerBI reports describing a specific range of business concepts and processes · Work closely with Financial Analysts to validate report accuracy · Conduct User Acceptance Testing walkthroughs of finished reports with business stakeholders · Set up Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines automating the deployment of report changes · Participate in backlog refinement and request decomposition, including data discovery and data analysis · Participate in drafting specific test cases and evaluation criteria for finished Data Mart · Communicate progress and blockers to the project manager and other remote team members.
