Role: Senior Solution Architect Location: Houston preferred but we can look at remote candidates only if they’re open to travel in a few times a year at minimum Duration: 12 Months • Vision: To make the right way the easy way. We provide customers and users with a quality of service and experience so good that they couldn't imagine building and supporting database and container platforms themselves. The CaaS team will deliver the reinvention of enterprise container services for the cloud generation. CaaS is bp's innovation platform for container-based applications. • Mission: To remove the barriers that prevent innovation with operational integrity of bp database and server-less compute platforms. CaaS will facilitate onboarding of applications to a container orchestration platform. Customers considering onboarding their applications to CaaS are advised to read about Container Development Principles to ensure their applications are a good fit for a container platform. Customers considering migrating legacy applications from on-premise data centres to the cloud are encouraged to read these best practices. Objectives: o CaaS is an augmented Platform as a Service (PaaS), providing a container hosting and orchestration platform. o CaaS will support a centralized architecture in the cloud to enable DevOps decentralized ways of working with the benefit of centralized standards and operational costs. Hub and spoke architecture is currently not offered. o CaaS supports and maintains the container platform. Application teams are responsible for running and maintaining their applications on the platform in accordance with established DevOps principles. • Current team culture and dynamic The team functions like a startup. Though we need to adhere to bp standards/policies in a heavily regulated industry, the team is shielded from that by the main stakeholder/sponsor. The team has carte blanche to design and implement a product from the ground up to meet the requirements the key stakeholder and product management have laid out. Any member of the development team can suggest changes, or better approaches, to meet the spirit of the requirements and have those adopted and implemented in the final product. It is a HIGHLY collaborative environment building an entirely new product (one that Microsoft has recently announced it is building, but bp is ahead of them) that is HIGHLY technical and complex, but the constant collaboration makes it a fun and challenging environment. Responsibilities: Identify and resolve technical design challenges for our customers and squad. Champion new product requirements and features for development. Mentor other developers, define standards, best practices and help drive adoption. Lead the conversion of the vision into a comprehensive product and service. Benchmark application performance and continue to tune and scale to accommodate growth. Make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Accountable for the application architecture of all product components. Guide multiple development squads and work streams at once to ensure successful delivery of projects. Evaluate and implement solutions and technologies for team adoption. Assess and communicate status, issues, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders. Be the “go-to” team member in your domain(s) for application design and patterns. Assist teams by hands-on coding including, but not limited to, the following: proofs-of-concept, code samples, and application infrastructure/frameworks. Requirements: • Expertise in a software and systems engineering. • Expertise working closely with sales and marketing teams in cloud computing or related technical fields. • Experience writing documentation, publications, and presenting solutions at conferences. • Experience in the business technology market. • Able to communicate complex technical concepts for broad audiences, empowering them with memorable and useful information. • Able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. • Understanding of the current state of infrastructure automation, continuous integration/deployment, security, networking, and cloud-based delivery models. • Understanding of infrastructure as a service, micro services, and serverless architectures. • 5+ years of direct experience working with a variety of technology systems, designing solutions, or developing business applications. • 5+ years of complex, highly scalable application architecture experience. • 2+ years of experience working in cloud based environments. Education (nice to have): AWS Certified Solutions Architect, at the Associate level TOGAF certification -- -- Thanks & Regards, Krishnasree | US IT Recruiter Thought wave software and solutions 314 N, Lake St, Suite 6, Aurora IL 60506 Mobile:6305668710 Email: krishnasree@wavsols.com Website: www.thoughtwavesoft.com LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/krishnasree-kolla-7582a01a3
