Basic Qualifications : Strong experience with Cisco UCS blades, Fabric Interconnects, and technologies Strong experience with VMware 6.7 and 7.0, and technologies Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019 technologies Additional Skills : Experience with datacenter migrations, including VM, P2V and physical migrations Prefer experience with VxRail and vSAN technologies Job Description : Apex Systems has an immediate need for a Senior System’s engineer for one of our large healthcare clients in the NYC. This individual will be the lead engineer supporting the client’s build and migration to their new data center. This exciting role will have you touching on all aspects of the build and move of 1000’s of servers.

Duties will include, but not be limited to: Build the and configure environment, both physical and virtual Create documentation, including run books, Visio drawings, update CMDB, etc. Work with Networking, Architecture, Datacenter Operations, application owners, vendors, etc. to gather requirements, establish standards, etc. Ensure Datacenter and Network preparedness for new hardware Create and work on Change Tickets, Service Requests, and Incidents as dictated by the workflow and Management Review ticket queues and resolve tickets in a timely manner Plan with Application owners to migrate systems to New datacenter Add capacity to physical and virtual infrastructure where required Execute on application migration plans Identify applications that will be P2V’d Execute plans to refresh or decommission server components in IDC 5, 6, and 7 Work may require off hours and weekend support
