Job details: Position: Senior Systems Engineer Duration: 8 month+ long term contract Location: 100% remote with potential travel to NYC/NJ sites as needed
Required Skills : • Cisco UCS, VMware, Systems Engineering • Must have big migration experience - server builds - directing team from hands on perspective - working with leadership - EXCELLENT Communication. • Basic Qualifications : • Strong experience with Cisco UCS blades, Fabric Interconnects, and technologies • Strong experience with VMware 6.7 and 7.0, and technologies • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019 technologies.
Additional Skills : • Experience with datacenter migrations, including VM, P2V and physical migrations • Prefer experience with VxRail and vSAN technologies
Duties will include, but not be limited to: • Build the and configure environment, both physical and virtual • Create documentation, including run books, Visio drawings, update CMDB, etc. • Work with Networking, Architecture, Datacenter Operations, application owners, vendors, etc. to gather requirements, establish standards, etc. • Ensure Datacenter and Network preparedness for new hardware • Create and work on Change Tickets, Service Requests, and Incidents as dictated by the workflow and Management • Review ticket queues and resolve tickets in a timely manner • Plan with Application owners to migrate systems to New datacenter • Add capacity to physical and virtual infrastructure where required • Execute on application migration plans • Identify applications that will be P2V’d • Execute plans to refresh or decommission server components in IDC 5, 6, and 7 • Work may require off hours and weekend support
Required Skills: • Strong experience with Cisco UCS blades, Fabric Interconnects, and technologies • Strong experience with VMware 6.7 and 7.0, and technologies • Strong experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019 technologies • Strong understanding of block and file storage technologies • Strong understanding of networking technologies • Strong understanding of security technologies • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience • Experience with datacenter migrations, including VM, P2V and physical migrations • Prefer experience with VxRail and vSAN technologies • Other duties as directed
