Role:ServiceNow Discovery Developer Location: McLean,VA – 2-3 days onsite Duration: 12 month contract – would prefer contract to hire (USC/GC – degree required) Must haves: • ServiceNow Implementation experience • Mid-level experience in hands-on development in ServiceNow • Strong understanding of the Discovery tool • Strong understanding of CMDB • Understanding of integrations and how they function • Understanding of cloud environments - AWS • Ability to do impact analysis Team: • Team Lead • Team of Developers Day2Day: • Individual contributor role as part of the implementation • Initial setup and configuration of CMDB and Discovery • Work with the business to clarify requirements for enhancements and support • Design solutions • Work with the team to build Proofs of Concept • Impact Analysis • Hands-on development to build solutions • Test solutions • Move solutions to production Interview Process: 1 step with Avneet, possibly tech lead joins the call(45mins-1 hr) Interview: HM mainly talks to candidates about Discovery and asks them to explain how to set up discovery, to discover cis without duplication, and then asks them to work through how to develop workflow and how CMBD works HM talked through day2day- implementing code, using CMBD, discovery, service mapping- candidates should be able to speak on these topics when screening out ServiceNow Discovery Engineer Job Description: This is an opening for a ServiceNow Discovery Engineer. Make an impact on both business and technology operations while delivering ServiceNow features as our global federal customer expands platform usage. This candidate must have experience with Discovery tools, web-based applications and technologies, possess strong communication skills, and have the desire to learn the general operations of a global organization. The position may allow temporary hybrid remote work due to Covid-19. Position may be called back onsite at any time at the customer's request. Your responsibilities will include: Assist with the implementation of Discovery and Cloud Provisioning and Governance with the ServiceNow CMDB. Assist with creation, maintenance, and debugging Discovery jobs/schedules. Assist with building, configuring, patching MID Servers. Assist with troubleshooting and customizing Discovery Patterns. Under broad direction provide development and administration of ServiceNow infrastructure. Diagnose and isolate incidents through testing and work to develop workarounds and/or fixes for system related issues. Understand business context and how to translate business and functional requirements into a sustainable ServiceNow implementation. Analyze system processes and develop enhancements to improve user experience and general system usability. Develop scripts on the ServiceNow platform to automate tasks and integrations. Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders, clearly understand their needs and communicate the team’s roadmap. Advanced problem solving and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Draw upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact. Develop design documentation for an enterprise deployment. Deploy test infrastructure in the customer’s test environment. Perform day to day support, administration, and maintenance of ServiceNow Discovery until transitioned. Develop systems integrations and process automation. Perform installation and testing of ServiceNow updates and new releases. Develop clear and concise technical and process documentation. Qualifications Required Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 9 years experience; Masters degree and 7 years experience. May accept experience in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree. Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, BMC Discovery, or similar discovery tool.
