Software Engineer (Java/Python) 100% remote Must be USC or GC Holder (3 years +) Software Engineers with Java and Python, SQL, CI/CD, and AWS. While on the phone with them, let them know they will be building DevOps tooling for Development teams and ask about the extent of their DevOps experience. I think you’ll likely find someone who has more experience in one vs the other but has programmed in both. Java primary with Python may be the more common skillset vs. the opposite. I would ask them: What is your proficiency level in each Java and Python?” What were some your primary responsibilities and project contributions using Java and Python? Have you worked with any frameworks for Java and Python Development? (i.e. Spring Boot, Django, Numpy) Were you programming in object-oriented or functional Python? (we’re looking for both ideally, but they need to have object-oriented at least vs only functional and Python scripting!) More example questions: Tell me about your experience using Java and Python? What types of applications or products were you working on? Were you building applications/products from scratch, making enhancements/new feature work, maintenance, etc? Were you responsible for building of webservices/APIs, integrations, interfaces? Tell me about your experience in testing and test automation? Have you worked with any particular tooling? Tell me about your experience in CI/CD pipelines. How have you used CI/CD to improve development and deployment of services? Tell me about your experience in containerization. How have you used containers to improve application functionality and/or migrate applications to the cloud? Tell me about your experience in logging/monitoring tools. What relational and NoSQL database management systems have you worked with? What were your primary responsibilities? (querying, stored procedures, query maintenance/performance tuning)
