Role:Database Solutions Architect

Location:100% remote Duration:12 months

This team is seeking a skilled Database Solution Architect to facilitate our transition from legacy systems to new data centers. This role involves engaging with application teams to gather detailed requirements, such as IP needs and clustering details, to design database solutions for Oracle, SQL Server, EDD Post, and EDB PostgreSQL platforms. The position requires strong communication and negotiation skills to manage capacity and ensure that database designs meet performance and scalability requirements. While the actual migration will be handled by the operations team, they will play a crucial role in designing and approving solutions, collaborating with a team of seven, and ensuring all requirements are met. They will be responsible for extracting and analyzing data to prevent capacity exhaustion and support a seamless migration process. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with Oracle and SQL Server, a solid understanding of database architecture, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.

Data Hosting builds and manages a large environment for SQL Server database hosting. This position would play a role in planning, designing, implementing and maintaining the SQL Server database environment. This position will interface with Database operations, application, server provisioning and other enterprise teams to support and deliver for the database environment. Part of the responsibilities of working on this enterprise team involve various large-scale or highly complex data/database management activities. The position would also be responsible for managing underlying infrastructure needed for building the database environment.

•  Database Infrastructure and database requirements analysis and sizing

•  Working with the Service delivery teams to deliver hardware to meet the database environment per the customer needs

•  Perform database environment capacity planning and availability management

•  Develop policies, procedures and standards

•  Consult with and advise senior management and DAN clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing directions taken.

•  Lead initiatives that could have Enterprise impact

Basic Qualifications:

•  7+ year’s database design and administration experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• • 5+ years SQL Server database design and administration experience including:

• • Database design, estimation and implementation experience

• • A background in implementing database infrastructure and managing database software

• • Experience with SQL Server High availability and Disaster recovery options

• • 5+ years of experience working with database compliance and security policies

• • 5+ years of experience providing consulting services in the identification and resolution of database issues

• • 2+ years using Agile tools/processes such as Kanban and Jira

• • Strong self-motivation and excellent communication skills (oral and written) to manage customer relations with emphasis on verbal and written communication to ensure strong customer service focus

• • Ability to take a lead role in moderately complex projects

• • Strong analytical skills

• • Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field

• • SQL Server and Cloud Certifications industry and commercial banking experience • Masters degree
