About the role
Role: SQL server engineer
Location: remote (must work EST hours) Contract: 6 months extendable
SQL Server Engineer with SDLC (software life-cycle development) experience (5+ years of experience): Candidate must have worked 3+ years in SQL Server Data Warehouse projects with supporting and maintenance including creating and implementing relational or dimensional databases, monitoring, and debugging/enhancement/deployments Candidate must be well efficient with SQL query – script development, performance tuning, and query optimization Candidate must have worked with parameter driven data warehousing solutions and proficient with Stored Procs/functions, integrate/map parameters to data control-flow Candidate must have 3+ years of experience with any data analytic software or visualization tool, i.e. Power BI, Tableau, or, QlikView/Qliksense (Power BI preferred) Candidate must have experience supporting SSRS (3+ years) – develop and enhance reports, deploy reports to SSRS portal, create subscriptions, and administer reports including interacting with SSRS subscription logs Candidate must have worked in SSIS and data integration life-cycle projects (develop/deploy/maintain) – not currently required, but if needed should be able to interact with ‘dtsx’ packages, debug and transition or update Candidate must be well communicated – clear, precise, and analytical SQL Server administration Experience Assist with database updates Manage database security (permission grant/revoke/access mapping etc.) SQL Server jobs and subscriptions SSRS Service SSIS Service
It will be plus if both candidates have exposure to Azure environment including:
ADF (Azure Data Factory) Azure Synapse (Pipeline/Triggers/Monitoring tool) Azure Storage Container (Microsoft Azure Data Lake)
