Title- Sr. Business Objects Developer Location- Hybrid (2 days a week onsite) in Owings Mills, MD Duration- Long Term Rolling Contract
Must Haves: Senior Business Objects Developer - SAP BO XIR2/XIR3 and Power BI
Summary: The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Objects Developer specializing in SAP BO XIR2/XIR3, Desktop Intelligence Application, and Power BI. This role involves providing both production and project support for Investment Teams by creating new or modifying existing Business Objects reports. The candidate will review and interpret system requirements, code, test, debug, and implement software solutions.
Key responsibilities: include automating tasks, developing in Business Objects using SQL (sproc) and/or PERL, and working closely with business analysts. The candidate should be highly proficient in SQL or Sproc, with knowledge of Sybase, Unix, PERL, Autosys, and DB2. This role demands a commitment to quality through unit/integration and acceptance testing, debugging large components, and supporting less experienced colleagues. The position operates under a hybrid model- Owings Mills Campus. Candidate will also: • Automate tasks (unit, smoke and end-to-end testing) • Develop in Business Objects using SQL (sproc) and/ or PERL • Work directly with Business Analyst • Be accountable for your work and sometimes others, provide process and standards advice in your area of specialization • Work independently • Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience • Actively helping team members/make suggestions to improve practices. Business Knowledge • Able to work directly with business analysts • Decisions show a focus on current and future business priorities, together with fiscal responsibility • Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions Requirements • Programs proficiently in several languages and is comfortable switching between them (highly proficient in either SQL or Sproc), Sybase, Unix • Some knowledge of PERL, Autosys, DB2 • Shows dedication to quality by implementing suitable software using unit/integration and acceptance testing at the time of feature development • Debugs large components with limited assistance and assists other engineers
