(Project Details) SRE experts to come in to help with the design of the platforms across all compute infrastructure needs, relieving the software engineers, building out monitoring and deployment tools, optimizing infrastructure based on their needs, working on deployment of open source, building out their own libraries, improving their input performance, continue to scale as the business grows • What does the Day-to-day Look like? (Daily Responsibilities) o Play a significant role in design, architecture and implementation of: o Trading research platform o Real-time decision support service o Reporting platform and service o Build a historical and real-time data management platform for a global, multi-asset trading organization o Design and implement infrastructure and tools in support of an automated deployment and operational framework o Deploy, monitor and maintain xBK’s research and production platforms and applications o Embrace and promote API-driven solutions, utilizing open source resources and cloud-based architecture o Deploy quant libraries in research and production environments o Continuously explore performance (speed, reliability, scale) improvements to the research and production environments • Required Tools/Technologies: CI/CD experience, optimization tools, • Preferred Tools/Technologies: software engineering background would be great • ? Client Job Description: Degree in computer science, statistics or similar • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and / or dev ops roles • Significant experience in design, deployment and monitoring of modern, cloud-based compute environments • Passion for high performance, low latency computing systems • Experience with real-time systems • Knowledge of time series database technologies • Experience in PostgreSQL, Redis and other DB solutions • Understanding of ML and optimization technologies • Understanding of financial engineering and mathematical finance concepts a plus • Excellent communication and documentation practices • Efficient coding skills in Python, C++ or Java • Experience with: • Version control, Git and Gitlab a plus • Linux environments, such as RedHat • Supporting production services in a containerized environment using Docker • Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, versioning and release automation • Deployment frameworks, such as Chef, Ansible and Puppet • Setting up and maintaining secret management infrastructure – familiarity with Hashicorp Vault a plus • Automation frameworks – familiarity with Airflow a plus • Architecting and orchestrating Kubernetes clusters Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 10-14 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Extensive experience with developing and supporting mainframe applications required. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.
