About the role
Role: Sr/Lead Java Engineer
Location: Remote Duration: 3+ months contract with extensions
Required Skills: Java 11 (8 is okay but 11 is preferred) NoSQL - Postgres and Dynamo DB (Any NoSQL database is fine Snowflake. Kafka (Nice to have) Spring Batch Microservice with Spring boot. AWS (Nice to have) - Just deploying code.
Responsibilities
Write simple and sustainable code that reflects a constant understanding of the business impacts. Act in the capacity of a software engineer to actively participate in the definition, design, development, testing, and implementation of software functionality using the Agile methodology Create or modify complex programs, modules, routines, scripts and data objects from a detailed design where efficiency, performance and reliability are critical Work with and advise both business and technology teams (internal and external) on how best to implement desired features and enhancements Ensure that technical solutions follow best practices, are reliable, are easily maintainable and are scalable under sustained load Participate in design and code reviews
Required Qualifications: Proven experience working with Spring/Spring Boot/Spring Data ecosystem Proven experience working with modern SQL/NoSQL databases Bachelor's degree (Computer Science or similar technical field of study preferred), or equivalent work experience 8+ years of programming experience with Java Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures Proven experience contributing to development of high-performance systems Ability to think independently and participate in breaking down product requirements into well-defined small tasks Be a hands-on Engineer spending significant percentage of their time writing code or debugging tricky issues. Experience building applications using AWS services Experience in building event Streams with Kafka & No-SQL Experience with cloud & orchestration technologies (AWS Services, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
