Sr SQL/PowerBuilder Developer

ONLY ON W2 Role Location: Remote Duration: 12 months contract Top Needs: 5+ years of experience Experience as a PowerBuilder developer using PB10 or more recent versions. Strong SQL skills (HiCAMS uses a Sybase database but SQL skills in any database platform are acceptable) Strong Microsoft Suite experience, particularly Excel Experience working in a remote software development environment Strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills Positive interpersonal skills coupled with an independent, self-motivated work ethic Ability to work with a custom base-class Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users The NCDOT is seeking experienced PowerBuilder contractor developers (>5 years experience) for a 12-month engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department (EAS) to enhance and maintain a mission-critical application called HiCAMS. Complete Description: ***While the candidate is working remotely, he or she will need to use his or her own equipment with a remote desktop from DOT. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking experienced PowerBuilder contractor developers (>5 years experience) for a 12-month engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department (EAS) to enhance and maintain a mission-critical application for the department called HiCAMS. HiCAMS is a custom, client-server, PowerBuilder application used to track work, materials and payments on North Carolina Division of Highways Construction projects. The initial assignments will be to code/test data windows to replace over 100 sample test result spreadsheet formats that were coded using an outdated 3rd party software tool. Additional work will involve coding/testing bug fixes and other functional enhancements to the system. This individual should have experience with standard development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, unit & system testing, quality assurance testing as well as experience with business process transformation.
