About the role
Role: StarRez Technical Administrator
Duration: Contract Location: Remote
Position Focus: Leads and manages a broad range of housing IT projects and endeavors. Will be the lead technical resource on a system migration and a primary admin user of the StarRez housing system. In conjunction with the Residential Technology Administrator, be a lead manager of the StarRez database, directly supporting the Graduate housing team of eight full time employees, many community fellows, and around 1100 bed spaces in 29 dormitories and apartment buildings. Daily oversight of the housing system, maintains the technical process of key projects like check in, check out, inspections, and room selection, and supports campus partners with billing processes and software interactions for student information and tests accordingly. Designs and prepares complex statistical reports, e.g., financial and space management needs; Conducts and controls data analysis and makes operational recommendations based on relevant data; Troubleshoots day-to-day issues, refresh environments, implement modules, manage enhancement plans. Works with internal and external clients to create databases, tables, etc., used for upload to Yale systems, and problem-solves data issues. Develops and maintains integrative technology with internal and external applications, and is responsible for building and managing process graphs in StarRez PortalX

Required Skills: Advanced knowledge of systems, including StarRez. Design and prepare detailed data sets and analyses. Excels in assessing technology needs, system requirements and handling of application upgrades. Ability to develop, implement and administer procedures for system security and integrity. Advanced utilization of various technologies and software (such as StarRez, Salesforce, Banner, Brio, Excel/pivot tables). Ability to think analytically and effectively articulate ideas in verbal and written communications. Experience with developing methodologies and assessment techniques that address department needs. Ability to document database procedures and policies and implement technical solutions. Strong work ethic, ability to teach & work in a team environment. Highly proficient at taking initiative, communicating work plans, prioritizing, & meeting deadlines. Superior organizational skills with ability to multi-task with flawless attention to detail. Ability to design and prepare detailed data sets, assess technology needs, system requirements and application upgrades.
Preferred Skills: Experience with Banner/Oracle. Operations and/or housing experience in a university setting. Experience with Salesforce, SQL, Drupal, REST API and advanced computer programming experience.
