STORAGE ENGINEER

Role:Storage Engineer

Duration:6+ months Location:Remote

General Purpose: Design, implement and support the Storage environments for both internal and external projects. Work closely with the technical team to develop and implement new policy initiatives and best practice guidelines.

Responsibilities

Design, manage, maintain, and document both internal and customer Storage environments. Write and review technical specifications for Storage environment. Resolve performance, security, and reliability issues with production Storage environments Configuration and support for EMC and Pure Storage environment Development, maintenance and management of monitoring systems and tools. Development, maintenance, and management of applications that support our Internal Storage infrastructure and services. Participate in the overall design and management of the internal storage environment. Drive to remote DCs and rack/stack new storage systems

Qualifications

5+ years professional experience with EMC Hardware and Software 5+ years professional experience with Pure Storage Hardware and Software Working Knowledge of Cisco MDS switches and configuration Knowledge of Cisco UCS blade and server and Dell server hardware Working Knowledge of EMC Avamar/Data Domain and Commvault backup solutions Proficiency with scripting languages (Perl, Shell (sh, bash, ksh, csh)) Strong knowledge of high availability / DR solutions

Desired Skills: Experience with System Security Experience with Veritas filesystem and clustering Experience with network design Experience with Linux systems and Windows systems Experience with VMware Knowledge of Oracle DB. Knowledge of web application platforms:

Experience & Education: BS in Computer Science or Engineering or demonstrated equivalent work experience. Minimum of Five (5) years of experience including as a Storage administrator in a datacenter or ISP environment.
